4WD, Photographic Safaris and Private Tours

New Zealand Safaris operated 4WD & photographic safaris with modern off-road vehicles. Wieth either half, full, or multi day tours. Our off-road adventures will take you all over the Mackenzie, Canterbury and Otago area. Most of the properties are privately owned, iconic high country properties. We spend a lot of time on these properties during the hunting season which provides us with knowledge of the area, the wild animals, farming operations and accessiblity onto private areas. Jim and his team can set up a spotting scope and binoculars to glass the Stag and Tahr that grace these mountains.

New Zealand Safaris 4WD and photographic safari tours encompass everything from Lord of the Rings to historical old cabins. Our 4WD tours explore locations around Tekapo, including Fairlie, Mount Cook and glaciers, Lake Tekapo, Lake Pukaki, Omarama, Twizel, and many other world famous and stunning back-country locations.

During the winter months we can also provide snow ski tours, with our own accommodation at All Seasons Lodge. These are fully catered to you with our fine meals cooked with local ingredients, complimented by local South Island beer and wine.

We often combine our 4WD tours with other local Mackenzie country experiences like helicopter adventues landing right at the lodge, hunting, target shooting, fishing, wineries, hiking, mountain biking, hot pools, ice skating to name a few.

We use true off-road vehicles which are built to handle the various types of 4WD terrain we take you to.  Each of our vehicles holds up to 4 passengers so your time with your guide is very personal.

For those that want to go next level we also offer the thrill of our Can Am side by side, access those areas a traditioanl 4x4 just can't get to. This is a great option if you want to really get up there to check out the wild animals up in the mountains.

We look forward to showing you the beauty and magic of the central South Island of New Zealand.
