Client Safety

Hunting big game in New Zealand can be a potentially dangerous sport. As a guiding business we

hold a current safety plan in accordance with NZ law. Even though our guides are very well qualified

and experienced, we must advise you that we cannot be held liable for your personal safety or the

safety of non-hunting observers accompanying you on this hunt.

Understanding the risks

• I agree to follow my guides instructions, request their support and keep my guide updated on my

wellbeing.

• I accept that this activity involves inherent hazards and potential risks.

• These hazards include but are not limited to: 4x4 or ATV rollover, falling off an ATV, slipping, Helicopter flights, 

sliding and falling, rock falls, hyperthermia, hypothermia, allergic reactions, adverse weather,

river crossings, other clients, other users of the land, careless use of a firearm, equipment failure,

sunburn, fatigue, becoming separated from my guide, use of helicopters.

• These hazards could result in serious injury or death.

• I’m aware that participating in a guided hunt with New Zealand Safaris  could be

hazardous.

• Please note: New Zealand Safaris has robust safety processes for mitigating hazards and

making sure you have a safe, enjoyable and successful hunting experience.

Health and medication

• I understand that it’s my responsibility to disclose any health or other conditions that may affect

the safety and enjoyment of myself and others.

• I’ve informed New Zealand Safaris (or will do so before undertaking the activity) of any

medical conditions, previous injuries, and medication I’m taking that may affect my ability to

participate safely.

• I confirm that I will not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol that may impair my ability to

participate safely.

• I confirm that I’m physically capable of doing this chosen guided hunt after discussing the various

options that New Zealand Safaris offers, and that I haven’t been advised otherwise by a

doctor.

• I consent to receive any medical treatment that may be deemed necessary by New Zealand Safaris in the event of injury or illness.

• I agree to carry all essential medication.

Landowner

I agree that the owner/s or managers of the land on which the activity is conducted won’t be held

responsible for any death, injury, or damage to or loss of property caused by this activity.

Participant agreement

I agree that by signing New Zealand Safaris Hunt Contract, I accept all the statements in this

document (and the contract) and I wish to proceed with the activity at my own risk.
